December Gamer of the Month: Toeyyy
Welcome back to our Gamer of the Month segment, where we highlight individuals amongst the community who show what being a member of 6A is all about. For the final month of the year, our December winner is Toeyyy from the Violent Resolution clan.
Toeyyy has founded and led [vR] from its beginning, accomplishing what most new clans fail to achieve: staying alive and competitive. His organisational skills and activeness amongst the community have helped vR to win this years Rookie Clan of the Year award in what can only be described as a whitewash victory. The clan are currently competing in the Astro 4v4 and MagicMod leagues, even putting forth multiple teams in the 4v4 League.
Toeyyy is continuing to grow as a leader and prominent figure amongst the competitive scene here at 6A, so a big congratulations to him on behalf of everyone at SIXAXIS Gaming.

Favourite game: The Call of Duty Series. I wouldn’t say I’m a fanboy but every Call of Duty game from COD4 to MW3 I have played and enjoyed thoroughly. I think it’s the accessibility and competitive nature of Multiplayer that keeps me coming back.
What’s your most anticipated game for 2012?
Following from my last answer, probably COD8… whatever it turns out to be.
15 minutes of fame?
Haha. Not sure how to answer this – but I’ve popped up online, on TV and in the papers a few times for my swimming. I won’t explain everything here but Google could help you out with some context.
What was your most embarrassing moment, or if you haven’t had one, what was your most memorable moment?
Walking into a ladies bathroom at an awards night earlier this year. Would have thought at 19 years old I’d learnt to identify which was which but the signs at the place were too fancy for their own good… or well that’s what I keep telling myself.
What’s your favourite movie?
Love watching movies, especially actions – The Town and Source Code are two of my favorite from the past year.
What’s your favourite artist/song?
Don’t have a favourite – but I listen to all R&B and Hip Hop and lately I’ve been getting into Trance.
Who is your idol?
Michael Phelps – Went to the Sydney Olympics aged 15, now has 16 Olympic medals and 39 world records to his name and counting. Definitely someone I really look up to.
What’s your philosophy on gaming? That is, what does it mean to you and do you see yourself remaining an avid gamer when you’re older?
For me turning on my PS3 is like an escape into another world. With the amount of swimming training and ‘normal’ stuff I do I don’t get a whole lot of time online. I enjoy my training – getting fit, setting goals and pushing yourself to achieving them – but sometimes just coming home, getting online, and running around with the guys in [vR] is just so much better.
I’m usually pretty tired but it’s awesome how you can just sit there, chill, and not have to do much, yet all the while everything in-game is so friendly, dynamic and enjoyable.
That’s pretty much what I love about gaming – win or lose – so yeah I don’t see myself stopping gaming anytime soon. Any spare time I have to get online I probably will.
On a side note I’d like to mention a few guys from [vR] – KillerNerve, NaYStRo, xJono__. These guys are top blokes and great leaders and I honestly believe they deserve much more recognition for their work in [vR]. Also thank you Sixaxis Gaming for supporting [vR] in so many ways, you guys really make competitive gaming something really enjoyable.
